Wing Zone Names Franchising Industry Veteran Stan Friedman As Executive Vp

Wing Zone , a fast-growing take out and delivery franchise noted for its 25 flavors of Jumbo Buffalo Wings, announced today it has named Stan Friedman, a seasoned veteran in the franchising industry, as Executive Vice President. According to executives at Wing Zone, Friedman’s primary focus will be on franchise development, franchise relations and marketing. Before joining Wing Zone, Friedman served in high-ranking positions with such franchise industry giants as Blimpie International, WSI Internet , and Cendant, the world’s largest hotel and real estate brokerage franchisor. The addition of Friedman to the Wing Zone executive team is the latest in a series of moves aimed at taking one of the nation’s “hottest” franchise concepts to the next level. Wing Zone stores currently operate in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Pennsylvania, Missouri, Louisiana, Colorado, Washington and now Nebraska. The company is gearing up for a record number of store openings in 2003, projecting to add at least 20 units, bringing the total number of stores to more than 55. “I’ve spent a significant portion of my professional career in franchising, because of my passion for providing people with business opportunities, managing their relationships with the franchisor and helping them grow their business,” Friedman said. “Wing Zone is an exciting place to be right now with so many positives, from its excellent business model and practices right down to food quality and amazing dedication of the founders. Wing Zone was founded in 1991 at the University of Florida by Matt Friedman and Adam Scott, who cooked wings and made homemade sauces in their fraternity house kitchen. After operating several successful corporate Wing Zone locations, the pair began franchising in 1999.
