Over the past few months, thousands of Unishippers customers have been registered for Unishippers' own online shipping tool, Express Manager. Developed in partnership with Kewill Solutions, a leading provider of enterprise shipping management software, the tool allows customers to see personalized rate estimates, compare costs on the various service levels, manage contacts through an address book and set up multiple-user accounts. In addition to these features, Unishippers announces the upcoming release of an exciting new feature in Express Manager support for thermal label printers. These convenient devices, which produce waybills on self-adhesive labels by selectively heating coated paper when passed over a thermal print head, make creation of DHL waybills in Express Manager even easier. According to Unishippers Director of Technology Alan Humpherys, the thermal label printers eliminate a few steps for customers during the shipment preparation process. “Once you have entered the shipment information into Express Manager, all you need to do is click 'Print Waybill' and the self-adhesive label comes right out,” Alan explains. “Then all you have to do is stick it on the package and you're ready to go,” he adds. This new feature will be most beneficial for customers who ship between eight and ten DHL packages per day whose volumes are not large enough to warrant a full-scale desktop shipping station from DHL. Thermal label printers that are currently supported by Express Manager include: Zebra 105SL Zebra 4M Zebra 140xi Zebra 170xiii Zebra LP2443 Zebra LP2844 Support for these and additional printers is planned to be available by the end of 2005. “Thermal label printer support in Express Manger is another way we are demonstrating our responsiveness to our customers' needs,” says Steve Nelson, President and CEO of Unishippers. “It makes shipping even easier as more people rely on the Internet to expedite their shipments.” Express Manager is accessible through the unishippers.com homepage in the online shipping login section.
