On May 16, 2005, the franchise agreement for Tradebank San Antonio, Texas was signed. Owned by Cheryl Knox, an ambitious young woman whose enthusiasm bubbles over with every word that comes out of her mouth, Tradebank San Antonio can only commence with an explosive start. Cheryl's excitement will surely spread along to her cohorts, husband Justin Knox and mother-in-law Margaret Knox. Both are expected to be her temporary brokers as she makes a transition into the new territory. Moving from Wichita, KS, to San Antonio, TX, will be a huge change for the couple and their two children, Emily (4) and Jack (3). "We're more excited about the move than anything else. It's a chance to start everything fresh and new, with new schools for our children, a new home, and a great new job" says Cheryl, whose smile seems as though it could reach farther than just ear to ear. When asked how Tradebank first started for her, Cheryl Knox explained that she's a former Tradebank member of Wichita. "I told John Schott [owner of Tradebank Wichita] I was moving, and had to cancel my membership because there wasn't a Tradebank office where I was moving. Instead of canceling, he encouraged me to open an office in Texas." Cheryl recalls laughing at first, but then the realization hit her: it's actually not a bad idea at all. In fact, it was a very, very good idea. There's a great base to work with in San Antonio, especially from the Austin clients who need attention. With contacts in the area, and a burning desire to not only get by, but to overwhelmingly succeed, Cheryl feels that "I can definitely make it work. I mean, anyone can, so if I can't well, I just will. Period." Cheryl plans on relying mainly on word-of-mouth to get the Tradebank buzz into people's ear. "You have to be hard-working, honest and reliable when working like this," she insists, "you want people to see the potential in Tradebank and your capability to take them there." Already an experienced business owner (her and husband currently own a deck and fence company), Cheryl anticipates this new project will utilize her past business experience and her ever-present people-person skills.
