Rita's Ices, Cones, Shakes and Other Cool Stuff, the nation's largest Italian Ice chain recently opened its newest store at the Dominion Valley Market Square in Haymarket. The newest Rita's is open daily from 12:00 p.m. to 9 p.m. Rita's in Haymarket is owned and operated by Joseph Mezzino Jr. The new Rita's offers walk-in service and inside seating. The store will be open year round and is among the first of the newly designed Rita's that are larger and offer indoor seating. "Rita's products are amazing and are made fresh daily right at the store everyday," said Joe Mezzino. "Our products are "something different" that most people have never tried before and once someone tries a Rita's they become an instant fan." Customer reaction has been great, with people describing the store has clean, bright, open and festive?..a fun place for families to get a terrific treat, at a great value! The store had a large turnout as soon as it opened. Mezzino attributes the instant success to the many former New Jersey and Philadelphia area residents living in Northern Virginia who were already Rita's fans. In addition to his recently opened store in Haymarket, Mezzino is planning to open additional Rita's stores at the Ashburn Village Shopping Center in Ashburn and in Leesburg. Plans call for both locations to open in 2007. Rita's Italian Ices are made daily and available in more than 30 different flavors. Rita's old-fashioned Frozen Custard, available in chocolate, vanilla, and now strawberry can be served in either a cone or cup.
