PostalAnnex+, the nation's second ranked postal services franchise, today announced that one of its retail store owners has been named a Franchisee of the Year by the International Franchise Association (IFA). Ms. Urmila Patel, who runs a successful PostalAnnex+ store in Fremont, California, received the top honor, citing passion for the business, optimism in her abilities and hard work as the keys to her success. The annual IFA Franchisee of the Year Award recognizes outstanding franchise operators who have performed in an exemplary manner during the year. "Urmila Patel's commitment to excellence and dedication to customer service are among the many reasons the International Franchise Association has recognized her as a Franchisee of the Year," said IFA president Don DeBolt. Ms. Patel, who bought a Fremont PostalAnnex+ store in October 2000, has built a loyal customer base and steady revenue stream in a very short time, making her one of the most successful store owners in the PostalAnnex+ system. A veteran entrepreneur for the past twenty years, she ran her own jewelry and clothing businesses in Belgium before immigrating to the United States three years ago. After evaluating several new business ideas, she selected the PostalAnnex+ franchise for its turn-key set up, brand recognition, diverse services and extensive support from the corporate headquarters. In addition, as a single mother with two children, she appreciated the 9-6 store hours and the clean, people-friendly environment.
