GEST Properties III, Ltd., owned by Stu Platt and George Karadanis, have broken ground on a Microtel Inn & Suites hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. The hotel scheduled to open in October is located at the intersection of East Robindale Road and Giles Street, one block from Las Vegas Boulevard (The Strip). This is the first Microtel to be built in Las Vegas and in Nevada as well. The three-story, 112-room Microtel Inn & Suites hotel will offer double and suite accommodations, all with queen beds, refrigerators, microwaves, ironing boards and irons. Additional amenities will include free local and free long distance phone calls anywhere within the continental U.S.; free high speed wireless Internet access in all guestrooms; phones with data-ports and voicemail; expanded cable television with CNN, HBO and ESPN, and complimentary daily breakfast. The hotel will offer a heated pool and spa, fitness center, and two meeting rooms for up to 50 people. Pets will be welcomed. The Microtel hotel is conveniently located four miles from McCarran International Airport, and within walking distance of The Strip, Las Vegas Outlet Mall (across the street) and several restaurants including Bootlegger Bistro and Outback Steakhouse.
