Maui Wowi, the leading franchisor of gourmet, all-natural Hawaiian blended refreshments sold nationwide, recently announced the appointment of Donald Scheer as the company’s chief financial officer (CFO). Scheer is also the director of regional support for the Louisville and Lexington, Kentucky metropolitan markets, a position he has held since October 2004. “We are thrilled to have Donald Scheer as part of the Maui Wowi team and even more excited about having him as our new chief financial officer,” said Michael Haith, CEO of Maui Wowi. “Donald’s extensive knowledge of client relations, combined with his outstanding business development skills, will truly benefit our growing company.” Scheer retired in 2002 from Deloitte & Touche after 28 years with the “Big 4” certified public accounting firm. From 1989 until his retirement, Scheer served in the firm’s Louisville office and was responsible for all international services and for client services in the manufacturing and consumer products industries. Since 2002, he has served as a contract CFO for several companies. “I am thrilled to be working with Maui Wowi and a corporate team that is committed to success,” Scheer said. “Together I know we will continue to expand the company’s invincible concept and record growth.” During his first weeks as the company’s new CFO, Scheer has already secured contracts for Maui Wowi kiosks with the Kentucky International Convention Center, the Kentucky Exposition Center and Slugger Field. Scheer currently resides in Louisville, Kentucky with his wife, Sharon. The couple has five children and seven grandchildren.
