A leading franchised Chinese food chain has opened a new branch in North York and is celebrating by rolling some help toward a local charity. Manchu WOK teamed up with Second Harvest as it celebrated the grand opening of it's 202nd restaurant, and first open kitchen location, on Friday. The new location will donate 1,000 spring rolls to Second Harvest, who will distribute the treats to social service agencies who help feed people in need. The company will also be donating a portion of the proceeds from the location's first three weeks' of sales (approximately $2,000 based on sales) to the charity. The restaurant is in the RioCan Marketplace, at the south-west corner of Dufferin Street and Steeles Avenue. People were invited to join manager Lin Zhang for free spring rolls and soft drinks, draws for door prizes, balloons and samples. This article has been read 791 times .
