Houlihan's Brings Friendly Neighborhood Casual Dining Experience To Southwest

Houlihan’s, one of America's most popular eateries for three decades, announced today it signed an agreement with MT-ALG Restaurant Management, LLC to open seven Houlihan’s locations in Phoenix, Arizona and San Antonio and Austin, Texas. “We are excited to bring Houlihan’s time-honored casual dining experience to the Southwest,” said Alan Gaylin, President of ALG Hospitality Management, who has partnered with Falgun Dharia, President of NP Management and Mantiff Connecticut Restaurant Management, who recently signed separate agreements to open 14 Houlihan’s locations in New York and Connecticut. “We look forward to bringing restaurant-goers the relaxed, friendly atmosphere and delicious entrees that consumers have come to expect and trust from Houlihan’s over the past 30 years.” Gaylin, who has more than 30 years restaurant industry experience, served as Senior Vice President of Operations for Houlihan’s Restaurants for six years before investing in the concept. Gaylin previously owned and operated a multi-unit fine dining chain in Austin , Texas and spent five years as Director of Operations for a TGI Friday’s brand. In addition to his New York Houlihan’s locations, Dharia, currently operates several Baskin Robbins, Dunkin Donuts, Taco Bell Express, Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express locations. MT-ALG Hospitality Management plans to have one Houlihan’s location open in Austin , San Antonio , Texas and Phoenix by summer 2005. A total of three Houlihan’s locations will open in the Pheonix Metropolitan area, and two each in San Antonio and Austin , Texas , over the next four years. The Houlihan’s locations will serve its classic menu, ranging from hearty, healthy salads and creative pasta dishes to classic entrees and fanciful mini desserts and beverages. Signature indulgences include Goat Cheese Bruschetta, tender Barbecued Baby-Back Ribs, decadent Caramel Nut Crunch Pie and Herb-Cheese Stuffed 'Shrooms. Additional entrees include Stuffed Chicken Breast , award-winning Lettuce Wraps and Pan-seared Tilapia on Tuscan White Beans. The restaurants will offer Houlihan’s “Nooner” menu until 2 p.m. , Monday through Friday. Currently, 74 Houlihan’s restaurants operate throughout the country, 46 of which are franchised. At least 20 new locations are expected to open in the next two years.
