Golden Krust Caribbean Bakery & Grill, the world’s foremost Caribbean Quick Service Franchise, will, on May 3, launch a major advertising campaign to push its new combo meals program. The campaign will include the use of NYC Transit buses, billboards, newspapers, radio and television. New York Giants star running back, Tiki Barber, who is the company’s celebrity spokesperson, will appear in all advertisements. The company’s website will also be used as part of the promotional outreach. According to President and CEO, Lowell Hawthorne, Golden Krust, in association with Pepsi, has just introduced the combo meals concept in all outlets and the new ad campaign is designed to focus attention on these offerings. “We take very seriously the reduction in food costs to our customers and the new combo meals will ensure that our customers receive fast, courteous service with meals at very affordable prices, he said.” More than 200 NYC transit buses will have Golden Krust advertisements on them. A number of billboards, strategically placed throughout the city, will also be a part of the campaign. New radio and television commercials will also begin airing on May 3, as will new newspaper ads. Golden Krust, a family-owned business, started operations in 1989 in the Bronx and began franchising in 1996. Today the company has more than 73 stores in six states, another 12 under construction with plans to build 250 US-outlets over the next 5-years. The company is rated among the top 100 black-owned businesses in the United States and rank 334 out of some 2,500 franchises countrywide.
