Cinnabon, an AFC Enterprises Company, announced that it signed development agreements with five new franchise partners that have committed to build 47 new Cinnabon bakeries. LFG Group, LLC, Sarah Freddie, president, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas, signed an agreement to build 12 locations in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Morrison Management signed an agreement for new bakeries in 20 of its hospitals throughout the U.S. and the District of Columbia. MUSA-KHAN, Inc., Mohammad Khan, signed an agreement to add five new bakeries in Connecticut and Rhode Island. LaTrelle's Management Corp., Kenneth James and Wally James, signed an agreement to build six bakeries in the Austin and San Antonio markets. GUL Franchise Owners Inc.'s Nazim Habib signed an agreement to build four bakeries in the Bakersfield, Calif. market. "We're excited about adding these new partners and the bakeries," said D'Wayne Tanner, vice president, new business development. "Getting into new venues such as hospitals and into new counties in Texas, Calif. and Rhode Island puts our product in reach of more people who want to enjoy Cinnabon." Three of the franchisees, Morrison Management, MUSA-KHNA, Inc., and LaTrelle's Management Corporation, are in new areas for Cinnabon. Cinnabon is the world-wide leader in the QSR cinnamon roll bakery category. The company operates and franchises more than 421 bakeries worldwide. The bakeries are in 42 states and nine countries. Founded in Seattle in 1985, Cinnabon bakeries operate in high-traffic venues such as shopping malls, transportation centers and airports. The bakeries are located in 500- to 1,500-square-foot areas and serve fresh cinnamon rolls made with special premium cinnamon and topped with sweet, rich, cream cheese-based frosting. Cinnabon had system-wide sales of approximately $150 million in 1999.
