Where we had large numbers of rental units last year, this year we have very few. Large retailers like Canadian Tire and Wal-Mart are opening, land is being purchased for new housing developments, and the developments already going on at Nicola Lake are continuing to do well. This area is hot to say the least - many people here are anticipating good continual growth for several more years,” says Beech. Beech, a 30-year veteran teacher with the Merritt School District, is a newcomer to the real estate industry, having received his license in 2004 while recovering from back surgery. Darch Oborne, the former owner of CENTURY 21 Moving Real Estate, has been with the company since 1995 and will remain on board as the managing broker until Beech completes his broker’s license. “It was always my hope to get into real estate when I retired form teaching, but circumstance allowed me to do this sooner than expected. I have fallen in love with this work. We have added three new realtors and we have all hit it off so well here.
